The focus group usually meets once a
month and is open to all members of the Lurgan community. Focus group evenings include discussions,
handouts, key skills, facts & figures, top tips, encouragement,
debates, local issues and much more.
Local principals, teachers, clergy, youth workers as well as
local services such as PAKT and Woman’s Aid, and local Council
and community representatives also support the group.
It is normal for young people to be involved in risk taking
behaviours, however, when the behaviour has an adverse affect on
the young person’s health, their life choices, their families
and their communities, it is then that we must be pro active.
The Focus Group aims to:
- Address issues of concern around risk taking behaviours in
the local area of Lurgan
- Provide opportunities for parents/carers to be better
informed about risk taking behaviours
- Support and equip parents through a parent’s focus group
If you would like more information about the focus group and
