| Vision The Lurgan Catalyst
Parent vision is to bring about community change so that it is
easier for children and underage young people to be alcohol, drug
and sex free.
Aim
The Lurgan Catalyst Parent aim is to support young people and those caring for them,
including parents, teachers, youth, church and community
workers, in committing themselves to on-going personal
development and ensuring young people are empowered to make
healthy choices in their lives.
Objectives
- Create a community ownership of the need to support young
people to resist risk-taking behaviours through
endorsement of the Catalyst Vision.
- Establish cooperative working relationships between all
those agencies committed to the Catalyst Vision who are involved
in personal development work with young people and their
carers.
- Encourage the development and delivery of strategies and
programmes that integrate all areas of risk taking behaviour
based on a personal development model and consistent with the
Catalyst Vision. This may include programmes for young people, parents and
carers, teachers, church workers, youth and community leaders.
